Balvenie – Classic is a single malt whisky from Balvenie (Speyside). Bottled at 43.00% ABV, 75cl. This is a non-age statement iteration of the Balvenie Classic. Like the Founder's Reserve bottlings from the same era, these were produced using the now iconic cognac-style bottles, and are increasingly collectible. First released in 1983, the Classic was one of the world's first whiskies to have undergone a secondary maturation, or "finishing." In this case with sherry wood. The expression was rebranded as the DoubleWood and switched to a 12-year-old age statement in 1993. A highly-regarded malt distillery in Speyside and the second built by William Grant & Sons. The distillery is still owned by the company today its brand has been nurtured to become one of the most recognisable and sought-after single malts in the world.
