BenRiach – Peated Cask Strength Batch #1 (70cl, 56%)

BenRiach – Peated Cask Strength Batch #1 is a whisky from BenRiach (Speyside). Bottled at 56% ABV, 70cl. After being founded by John Duff & Co in 1897, the distillery was mothballed for 65 years with only its floor maltings being used for the Longmorn distillery next door. After experiencing great success under the ownership of Billy Walker and his partners, it won Distillery of the Year from Malt Advocate magazine in 2007 and has received rave reviews for its peated and un-peated expressions alike. The distillery was purchased by Brown-Forman in 2016 - the same year they bought GlenDronach and Glenglassaugh - and in 2017 Rachel Barrie took over as master blender. Peated Cask Strength Series - Batch One This bottle is within the first batch of this peated cask strength series and the heavily peated expression is an exciting addition for any whisky lover who appreciates the complex smokiness at play within the dram.
