Bowmore is one of Islay's oldest distilleries, established in 1779 on the shores of Loch Indaal. It is home to the famous No.1 Vaults, one of the world's oldest Scotch maturation warehouses, situated below sea level. The distillery is currently owned by Beam Suntory.
