Bowmore – The Devil's Casks - Release III is a single malt whisky from Bowmore (Islay). Bottled at 56.7% ABV, 70cl. Matured in first-fill oloroso & PX sherry casks.
Bottled in 2015, this was the third release in the incredibly popular Devil's Casks small batch series from Bowmore distillery. This release was matured exclusively in first-fill sherry casks, a marriage of oloroso and Pedro Ximenez. Unlike the first two batches which were declared as being matured for a minimum of 10 years, this does not carry an age-statement.
The oldest operational distillery on the isle of Islay, built in 1779. Today it is part of the Suntory Group, having been acquired by the Japanese company in 1994. Under their ownership is has been nurtured into one of the most collectable names in Scotch whisky.
