Bruichladdich – 19 Year Old - 1st Fill Bourbon Hogshead #1401 - Private Cask is a single malt whisky from Bruichladdich (Islay). Aged 19 years, bottled at 55.1% ABV, 70cl. Built by the Harvey brothers in 1881, Bruichladdich is situated on the Isle of Islay. For several years Bruichladdich was known as the local's drink of choice, and to many people's surprise, it is an unpeated dram. The distillery was in production from its opening until 1995 when it closed, it was shortly resurrected in 2001 when Murray McDavid purchased the distillery a year before. Since 2000, other variants from the distillery were released, courtesy of Master Distiller Jim McEwan, the medium-peated Port Charlotte inaugural bottling came in 2006 and the heavily-peated Octomore inaugural bottling came in 2008. In 2012 French drinks group Rémy Cointreau bought Bruichladdich. Towards the decade, plans for the distillery to build its maltings were unveiled and barley trials started to test sustainable farming practices. Distilled at the Bruichladdich Distillery in Islay on 25th November 2004, this single malt was matured in First Fill Bourbon Hogshead #1401 for 19 years. It was then bottled at a strength of 55.1% ABV. This is a Private Single Cask Bottling.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world.
