Bruichladdich – X4+3 Usquebaugh-Baul: Perilous Spirit 3 Year Old is a single malt whisky from Bruichladdich (Islay). Aged 3 years, bottled at 63.50% ABV, 70cl. Matured in refill & virgin American oak casks. A unique spirit from Bruichladdich, this was the first quadruple-pot still distillation in 300 years. The spirit reached a massive 92% ABV in the stills and was originally released as the X4. Matured half in traditional bourbon casks and half specially commissioned virgin oak (hand-coopered in France) thick-staved hogsheads. A single malt distillery on the isle of Islay, currently part of the whisky holdings of French company, Rémy Cointreau. The distillery's flagship brand of single malt is a non-peated style, however it also produces peated variants called Port Charlotte and Octomore, as well as The Botanist gin.
