Caol Ila – 22 Year Old Special Festival Edition is a single malt whisky from Caol Ila (Islay). Aged 22 years, bottled at 58.40% ABV, 70cl. Matured in american oak sherry casks.
Released at the distillery's open day on May 27th, this Caol Ila has been matured for over 22 years in sherry-treated American oak casks. This was one of two Caol Ila bottlings for the 2019 Fèis Ìle festival on Islay.
By volume the largest single malt producer on the isle of Islay. It is part of the extensive Scotch whisky holdings of Diageo who, in addition to marketing its peated single malt, have also assigned it as one of the four regional brands home of the Johnnie Walker blends.
