Hanyu – 1990 Ichiro's Malt Card Series - Queen of Hearts is a single malt whisky from Hanyu (Japan). Bottled at 54.00% ABV, 72cl. Matured in french oak cognac cask.
This is the first release of the Queen of Hearts, distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2005. A second release followed in 2006. The whisky was aged in a traditional hogshead before a second period of maturation in a French oak cognac wood.
A Japanese malt distillery located in the town of the same name. It developed immense collectable status following its closure 2000 after the famous "Card" series was bottled by Ichiro's Malt. Believed to be lost forever, its former owners rebuilt it and distilling commenced again in 2021.
