Kilchoman – Fèis Ìle 2023 Release - 100% Islay casks is a single malt whisky from Kilchoman (Islay). Bottled at 55.3% ABV, 70cl. Established in 2005, Kilchoman is one of the smallest distilleries in Scotland. Based on a farm on the rugged west coast of Islay, Kilchoman was the first distillery to be built on the island for 125 years. Kilchoman displays all that is great about the grass-roots traditions of Scotch whisky distilling and truly is Islay's farm distillery - from barley to bottle. The 2023 Fèis Ìle Kilchoman release is a combination of 3 single casks; an 11-year-old Oloroso sherry butt and two 10-year-old bourbon barrels. The chosen casks were filled with spirit created from Publican barley grown in the distillery's own fields in 2011 and 2012, of which, the barley was then malted, distilled, matured, and bottled on-site at the distillery, resulting in a 100% Islay release. bottled at cask strength, 55.3% ABV and produced 1159 bottles which were only available to purchase in person from the distillery shop on the day.
