Knockando – 1984 Pure Single Malt (1L) is a single malt whisky from Knockando (Speyside). Bottled at 43% ABV, 1L. Knockando, named after the town in which it lies, was built by John Thompson in 1898. It is another of the railway distilleries which was built during the last three phases of distillery construction in the 1800s by John Thompson. The distillery has passed through a number of ownerships throughout the years including IDV and Diageo, who still have ownership today. The production at Knockando is designed to produce a lighter nutty/malty character - rapid mashing, short fermentation and quick distillation. The lighter style is very popular with blenders. It remains a prominent player within J&B, however, it can also be found as a single malt - mainly at 12 years old. Knockando remains a very desired single malt in the French and Spanish markets. Distilled in 1984, this Knockando single malt was bottled in 1997 by Justerini & Brooks at 43%.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
