Macallan – 10 Year Old Fine Oak Mini 5cl is a whisky from Macallan (Speyside). Aged 10 years, bottled at 40% ABV, 5cl. The Macallan distillery was founded in 1824 by Alexander Reid, a barley farmer and school teacher. Now owned by the Edrington Group, The Macallan prides itself on its Six Pillars, which include its curiously small stills, very narrow ‘cut’ of new make spirit and exceptional cask management. It is the most sought after whisky for collectors. First introduced in 2004, the Fine Oak range was a milestone for Macallan, as it was the first expression released by the distillery that was not solely matured in Sherry casks. The range was met with an initial scepticism from Macallan fans, but over the years it has won over many doubters. Now harder to find, as it has been discontinued in some markets to make way for the non age statement “colour” series.
