The distillery is renowned for its curiously small stills and its longstanding commitment to natural colour and cask-led maturation. The Classic Cut is a limited annual release from The Macallan, each edition bottled at a higher strength to showcase the full, undiminished character of the spirit. This 2017 edition — the inaugural release in the series — was matured exclusively in hand-picked sherry seasoned oak casks sourced from Jerez, Spain, and bottled by The Macallan Distillers Ltd. at Easter Elchies, Craigellachie, at natural colour and 58.4% ABV, in a 75cl format.
