Macallan – Royal Marriage is a single malt whisky from Macallan (Speyside). Bottled at 46.80% ABV, 70cl. Matured in sherry casks. This royal release from Macallan was a limited edition bottling of only 1,000 bottles, celebrating the marriage of Prince William to Catherine Middleton on 29th April 2011. It was bottled from two casks, both filled on 29th April – one from 1996 and one from 1999. To create the label and packaging design, Macallan commissioned the creative force behind the 1981 Royal Marriage bottle, David Holmes, who was also one of the architects of their advertising campaigns in the 1980s and the early 1990s. Crown jewel of the Edrington Group and one of the best-known names in single malt Scotch, made famous by the legendary status of much of the whisky it has produced over the years, including its Fine & Rare series, Anniversary malts and flagship annual 18-year-old release.
