Macallan The Archival Series - Folio 7 is a whisky from Macallan (Speyside). Bottled at 43% ABV, 70cl. The Macallan distillery was founded in 1824 by Alexander Reid, a barley farmer and school teacher. Now owned by the Edrington Group, The Macallan prides itself on its Six Pillars, which include its curiously small stills, very narrow ‘cut’ of new make spirit and exceptional cask management. It is the most sought after whisky for collectors. A new £140 million subterranean distillery and visitor centre on the Easter Elchies estate was opened to the public in the summer of 2018 and has since won several awards for its architectural quality; with its exciting features including glass walls of vintage whiskies, a circular pod of copper pot stills, and a Boutique reflecting those in Dubai and Heathrow airports. Folio 7 Available only from the distillery and with a beautifully illustrated hardback book, The Archival Series continues to rediscover Macallan advertisements from the 1970’s, 80’s, and 90’s. This continuation in the series features an advert for “The Boffins Baffled” which depicts scientists merrily carrying away what appears to be a barrel of The Macallan, all in the name of research of course. The book contains a USB stick continuing the advertising archive. Please note this set does not come with any outer packaging and condition of tin Please note there is an issue with the Folio packaging, where the retaining clips that hold the book in place have a tendency to break in transit. This is because some are made of fragile plastic, as opposed to the metal. The quality of the tin is extremely fragile and prone to denting. Please note that this set is a large item. Additional delivery charges may be payable.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
