Mackinlay's – Rare Old Highland Malt - First Shackleton Commemorative Re-Creation is a blended malt from Mackinlay's (Scotland). Bottled at 47.30% ABV, 70cl. An exact replica of the bottles of whisky left in Antarctica by Sir Ernest Shackleton during his South Pole expedition between 1907 and 1909. The whisky was recreated down to the very last detail by Whyte & Mackay master blender, Richard Paterson. This replica bottle of Mackinlay’s blended Scotch contains whiskies from Speyside, the Islands and the Highlands. The recipe even includes some very rare 1983 vintage Glen Mhor. Mackinlay's is a historic brand name in Scotch whisky, first registered by Charles Mackinlay & Co in 1847. Although no longer in production, the name belongs to the Whyte & Mackay group and provides the foundation for its current range of Shackleton whiskies.
