Penderyn – Icons of Wales #6 - Royal Welsh Whisky is a single malt whisky from Penderyn (Wales). Bottled at 43.00% ABV, 70cl. This is part of the Icons of Wales series and is dedicated to the original Welsh Whisky Distillery Company which was founded in 1891 and given a Royal Warrant by Queen Victoria in July 1895. Sadly the company could not compete with Scotland and Ireland and sadly closed in April 1900. This is a replica bottling of the young peated malt. A Welsh whisky distillery that revived the nation's distilling heritage when it first opened in 2000, the first in Wales for over a hundred years. It was commissioned by The Welsh Whisky Company and makes use of a unique and specially designed Faraday still to produce its whisky.
