Port Charlotte – Valinch SHC:01 2006 11 Year Old 50cl is a whisky from Port Charlotte (Islay). Aged 11 years, bottled at 62.9% ABV, 50cl. This heavily peated whisky from Bruichladdich is generally peated to 40ppm and is distilled in the same tall stills resulting in a spirit that has both power and elegance. Created to commemorate the Lochindaal distillery, originally called Port Charlotte, which closed in 1929, it was the first spirit distilled by the Murray McDavid team in 2001. These hand-filled bottlings are available exclusively to visitors to the distillery. Valinchs are by definition only ever at cask strength, from a single barrel, and selected for their individuality.
