WhistlePig – 12 Year Old Old World Cask Finish is a whisky from WhistlePig. Aged 12 years, bottled at 43% ABV, 70cl.
Master Distiller Dave Pickerell started an experimental batch of rye whiskies after drawing inspiration from the best techniques of distillation, marrying, finishing and vatting this rye whiskey into perfection. As a result, Whistlepig won San Francisco spirits competition in 2015.
This whiskey is the marriage of three finishes, each with their own distinctive flavour profiles. After maturing for 12 years in New American Oak, the spirit is divvied into one of three barrels – Madeira (63%), Sauternes (30%) and Port (7%).
