Built in 1896 by John Dewar & Sons the Aberfeldy distillery lies in the centre of Scotland. Mostly used for the Dewar blend but in the 70s also started single malt expressions, namely for independent bottlers like the Connoisseurs Choice. This bottle of Aberfeldy Connoisseurs Choice distilled in 1989 was only bottled in 2009 making it a 20 year old. Once opened its scent is of Barley, vanilla and smoke, the palate is summer fruits, honey, vanilla and dried fruit with a medium length finish of sherry and smoke.
