Arran 1998 Icons of Arran - The Westie is a single malt whisky from Lochranza (Island). Aged 12 years, bottled at 46.00% ABV, 70cl. Matured in sherry hogsheads.
The follow-up to the Arran Rowan Tree and the third in the Icons of Arran series, this bottle depicts Ruaraidh, Arran's beloved westie. Distilled in 1998, matured in 22 sherry hogsheads and bottled in 2011.
One of two malt whisky distilleries owned by Isle of Arran Distillers, Lochranza was the first to be opened in 1995. The distillery's flagship single malt brand is the Arran label and although it now only distils a non-peated whisky, it has historically produced peated single malt as well.
