Bowmore – Legend (70cl, 40%)

Bowmore – Legend is a single malt whisky from Bowmore (Islay). Bottled at 40% ABV, 70cl. Founded in 1779, Bowmore is Islay's oldest licenced distillery, and home to one of the world's oldest Scotch maturation warehouses, the No.1 Vaults. Bowmore operated well throughout the years, however their great reputation only came about when Wm & Jas. Mutter acquired the distillery in 1837. This led to Windsor Castle requesting a cask of Bowmore in 1841. In the early 60s, Stanley P. Morrison acquired the distillery, this era saw the start of a great period in Bowmore's history, the mid-60s bottlings are seen as being legendary. Now with Suntory having full control since 1994, Bowmore is still thriving to this day. The 'Legend' is a no-age-statement whisky that showcases Bowmore Distillery's classic peat smoke. A young, rather gentle Bowmore. This is a special release that tells the story of a hero who managed to fight the battle of a stormy sea and return to his loved ones 'I reached home'. A legend told by James Wilson, blind fiddler, Islay 1851. The CD is not included in this set.
