Glendronach – Original 12 Year Old is a single malt whisky from Glendronach (Highland). Aged 12 years, bottled at 43.00% ABV, 70cl. Matured in oloroso & PX sherry casks. The Original 12-year-old expression was first released in the 1980s and at the time matured in sherry casks and plain oak. They were available alongside the popular Matured in Sherry Casks 12-year-old for several years before both were replaced by the bourbon- and sherry-matured Glendronach Traditional in 1991, launched as part of the short-lived Caledonian Malts range from Allied Distillers. When the distillery was re-opened in 2002, the Original 12-year-old was brought back. This version was introduced in 2009 by Billy Walker and was aged only in oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. A malt distillery located in Forgue by Huntly in the eastern Highland region. As of 2016 it is American-owned by the Brown-Foreman Corporation through its Benriach Distillery Company subsidiary. Famed for its preference for sherry cask-ageing, it has long been an established single malt brand.
