Founded in 1826 Highland Park is believed to of been distilling illegally much previously as the founder Magnus Euson was caught distilling in 1798 on the same site that later became Highland Park. The Highland Park distillery has been named on several occasions as having the best spirit in the world, On one of those occasions, the Highland Park 25 year old is the first ever to have received a 100 point score at the Ultimate Spirit Challenge. Upon opening this bottle the aromas of fresh apples, ginger, caramel and peaty smoke should welcome you, the palate is caramel, pepper, dates and heather with a long finish of heather, brine, pears and pepper.
