Highland Park 2002 SMWS 4.246 ‘Rusty Claymore Washed Up On The Beach’ (70cl, 57.2%)

Founded in 1983 The Scotch Malt Whisky Society has become one of the leading independent bottling companies around, starting as a private club they decided to buy a cask together to enjoy drinking, Once they had enough and wanted to bottle the rest of the cask which was from Glenfarclas distillery, only Glenfarclas did not approve of using their name on the label so the Society came up with a code made of two parts, the first is the number of the Distillery and the second is the number of releases which means this bottle is the 246th release of Highland Park by SMWS. This brings us to the tasting notes of the aforementioned, Aromas of cinnamon and orange peel and grapefruit, the palate brings tropical fruit, black tea and sea mist with a long finish of sea spray and ginger spice.
