The Orkneyinga is in fact the classic 12 year old Viking Honour but released with the name changed to support the refurbishment of the Orkneyinga Saga Centre in Ophir, Orkney. Most recommend a few drops of water added to this dram to ‘open up’ the flavours. The whiff of heather and cloves with honey and citrus will greet you, the palate is smokey but still heather and honey lingering to a short finish with white pepper as well as the smokiness.
