Meikle Toir 5 Year Old The Sherry One (70cl, 48%)

Meikle Toir 5 Year Old The Sherry One is a whisky. Aged 5 years, bottled at 48% ABV, 70cl. Built in 1891, Glenallachie did not begin production until 1898. The whisky from this distillery initially was destined for the White Horse blend, but since Bacardi’s takeover in 1998, the majority of its output now heads for the Dewar’s range. The Glenallachie distillery was bought and mothballed by Invergordon Distillers in 1985. In 2017, Billy Walker, Graham Stevenson, and Trisha Savage bought the distillery as the Glenallachie Distillers Company Limited. Glenallachie now produces both unpeated and peated sprit, the latest being the Meikle Toir range. The Sherry One With a peat level of 35ppm, ‘The Sherry One’ has been matured in a combination of quality Pedro Ximenex and Oloroso Sherry Puncheons and bottled at 48% abv. Released in the autumn of 2023.
