Springbank – 100° Proof 12 Year Old 'Green Thistle' is a single malt whisky from Springbank (Campbeltown). Aged 12 years, bottled at 50.00% ABV, 70cl. Matured in sherry casks.
These 1990s releases of Springbank 12-year-old are affectionately known as the 'Green Thistle' bottlings on account of their packaging. There are versions of this 100° Proof expression at both the imperial and US proof equivalents of 57% and 50% ABV, respectively.
A revered single malt distillery in Campbeltown that has operated since 1828. It is today owned by J&A Mitchell & Co who produce three single malt styles there. These are its flagship two-and-half times distilled Springbank, a heavily-peated malt known as Longrow, and the triple-distilled Hazelburn.
