Springbank – 2016 Local Barley 8 Year Old is a single malt whisky from Springbank (Campbeltown). Aged 8 years, bottled at 58.10% ABV, 70cl. Matured in bourbon & sherry casks. Distilled using Bere Barley from High Ranachan, this 8-year-old Local Barley bottling is a vatting of 50% bourbon and 50% sherry casks. A revered single malt distillery in Campbeltown that has operated since 1828. It is today owned by J&A Mitchell & Co who produce three single malt styles there. These are its flagship two-and-half times distilled Springbank, a heavily-peated malt known as Longrow, and the triple-distilled Hazelburn.
