Springbank – 9 Year Old 1996 - Marsala Wood - Wood Expressions is a single malt whisky from Springbank (Campbeltown). Aged 9 years, bottled at 58% ABV, 70cl. Springbank Distillery, established in 1828 in Campbeltown and operated by J. & A. Mitchell & Co. Ltd., is one of Scotland's most traditional distilleries, carrying out the entire production process — from malting to bottling — on site. It remains in the ownership of the founding Mitchell family. This bottling is part of Springbank's Wood Expressions range, which explores the influence of different cask types on maturation. Distilled in October 1996 and bottled in August 2006 at 9 years of age, the whisky was matured in a combination of refill bourbon and Marsala wood casks. The outturn was 1,740 bottles. Bottled at Campbeltown by J. & A. Mitchell & Co. Ltd. The Wood Expressions range is non-chill filtered and presented without artificial colouring.
