Talisker – 18 Year Old is a whisky from Talisker (Islands). Aged 18 years, bottled at 45.8% ABV, 70cl. Talisker was founded by two brothers, Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill in 1830 and until 1928 practised triple distillation. The distillery was rebuilt after being destroyed by fire in November 1960, including commissioning identical stills to those that had been destroyed in the fire. In 1998 it was part of Diageo’s Classic Malts original line up and in 2014 it became the 10th best selling single malt in the world and demand keeps growing. Recent releases include Talisker Skye and Talisker Neist Point. Talisker 18 years old is a masterpiece from one of Scotland’s greatest distilleries, and was named ‘Best Single Malt Whisky in the World’ at the World Whiskies Awards in 2007.
