Wolfburn – 2013 12 Year Old 2025 The Anniversary Series is a whisky from Wolfburn (Highland). Aged 12 years, bottled at 53.5% ABV, 70cl. The first distillery called Wolfburn was opened by William Smith in 1821 and was run by the same family until 1837. In the 1820s it was the largest producer in Caithness. It appears to have closed in 1837 before David Smith ran it for one year in 1852, The purchase of the land (as close as they could to the original spot) was finalised in May 2012 and the first ground was broken on the new site just a few months later. The new Wolfburn distillery building is just a short walk along the burn from the old site towards the sea. The new distillery now uses the same original water source. Production first commenced on 25 January 2013. The Flow Country covers much of Caithness and has done so since the end of the last ice age. It is an ancient and almost unique environment, the largest expanse of blanket peat bog in Europe, perhaps the entire world! Today Wolfburn’s distillers fashion their whisky the same way it was always made, by hand, using only the finest ingredients, and without haste. Distilled, matured and bottled on-site at the Caithness Distillery. Please note minor wear to label

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
