Wolfburn is the northernmost Whisky distillery on the Scottish mainland and derives its name from the burn (stream) from which it takes its waters named Wolf. Originally the distillery opening was in 1821 just 350 meters from its current location and by the 1870’s it was marked in an ordinance survey map as a ruin. In 2012 approval was gained to build the new Wolfburn distillery which is the one producing at present. During the Covid-19 pandemic, countless events and gatherings had to be cancelled or postponed, The Mey Highland Games of 2020 were one such event, this release commemorates the postponement of the Mey Highland Games of 2020. Once opened this bottling of a blend of two casks releases the aromas of caramel, orange peel, pineapple, and plasticine, the palate is of canned fruit, marzipan, banana and malt with a long finish of marzipan, oak and banana.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturaly: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from auctions, ballots, and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.

Every time we'll add new rare spirit to our website, we'll update you in the email
