Bruichladdich The Organic One 2011 (70cl, 50%)

Bruichladdich (pronounced as “brook-laddie”) is situated on the Rhinns of Islay which is a peninsula on the western part of the isle of Islay. Bruichladdich is well known as the smoother of the Islay whiskies which are better known for their smoky and peaty character. The organic barley sourced for this organic whisky ‘The Organic 2011’ is completely in its entirety from Mid Coul farm located close to Inverness. So if you are interested in terroir in the form of whisky or how the pre maturation process can affect the taste of whisky, this would be a good choice. Once opened the aromas of lemon, caramel and oak greet you, the palate is vanilla, cooked fruit and lemon zest with a medium long finish of citrus, vanilla and oak.
