Lagavulin – 11 Year Old - Offerman Edition is a single malt whisky from Lagavulin (Islay). Aged 11 years, bottled at 46% ABV, 70cl. Lagavulin is said to be one of the oldest distilleries on Islay and is world-renowned for its smoky, peaty whiskies. It is situated on Islay's south coast where legal distilling started in 1816 by John Johnson. The distillery was then moved into the hands of the Mackie's who launched White Horse into export markets. White Horse Distillers became part of DCL in 1927 just shortly before the Distillery was closed in 1942 for the remainder of WWII. Later, Lagavulin 16 joined the Classic Malts portfolio in 1989 and ever since has been a great success. Lagavulin Offerman Edition is an 11-year-old, limited edition released as a tribute to Nick Offerman. Nick Offerman was known for his woodcraft skills and for putting them to good use in building his own boats. Lagavulin chose this dram for a reason, it comes from American white oak casks, a direct reflection of his passion.
