Wire Works Necessary Evil Finish (70cl, 51.3%)

Wire Works Necessary Evil Finish is a single malt whisky from White Peak (England). Bottled at 51.3% ABV, 70cl. Matured in bournon & stout finish. This whisky was first aged in ex-bourbon barrels and finished in casks that previously held Necessary Evil, Thornbridge’s acclaimed imperial stout. The STR finishing casks (shaved, toasted, recharred ex-red wine casks) began life ageing Wire Works whisky, then matured Necessary Evil stout (winner of the World Beer Awards 2024 World’s Best Flavoured Beer), before being returned to finish this release of their whisky. An English whisky distillery founded in 2016 by husband-and-wife team, Max & Claire Vaughan and the first of its kind to be located in Derbyshire. It produces both peated and non-peated single malt which is bottled under the Wire Works brand name in homage to the history of the distillery building.
