Amahagan World Malt Whisky Edition No.1 (70cl, 47%)

Amahagan Edition No.1 is a Japanese blended malt in a 700ml bottle, bottled at 47% abv. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The series began two years after distilling started at Nagahama Distillery in 2016, with blending as its focus, and combines Nagahama malt with overseas malt whisky. The strength of 47% was chosen to bring out the malty character of the whisky. Tasting notes describe a round malt aroma and a fruitiness reminiscent of orange chocolate, all wrapped in sweet vanilla. The palate opens with a rich attack, and the finish carries through the nose.
