Ardbeg 10 Year Old is a peated Islay single malt bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is unfiltered and was matured almost entirely in bourbon casks. The peat is balanced by a pleasant sweetness in the aftertaste. The colour is white wine to pale straw.
Customer tasting notes describe a strong but not overpowering nose of phenol, peat and smoke, with background salt, a little citrus and tanned leather. The palate is full of smoke and peat, followed by liquorice and honey, and the finish is lightly sweet with peat and a little smoke.
