Ardbeg – 10 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

Ardbeg 10 Year Old is the distillery's core single malt from Islay, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle and non-chill-filtered. It is counted among the most heavily peated and smoky Islay malts, with the natural sweetness of the malt keeping the peat in balance. Caramel, chocolate and cinnamon sit alongside the peat, with coffee and nuts following through the tasting. The nose combines butterscotch, chocolate, cinnamon, citrus, melon and sea spray with smoked fish. The palate moves from peat and tobacco smoke to espresso, liquorice, ginger and gentian, ending dry. The finish is long and smoky, with crushed peat and creamy malt.
