Ardbeg 'For Discussion' is an 8 year old Islay single malt from the Committee Release series, bottled at 50.8% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in ex-sherry casks and bottled unfiltered, without added colour. It is a limited edition. The nose brings charcoal, tar and treacle toffee, with fennel, celery, aniseed, wood smoke and chocolate; a drop of water brings out sea spray. The palate is peppery with aniseed and salted caramel, then eucalyptus and menthol, turning to sweet wood smoke, smoked bacon and burnt toast. The finish is long, led by pepper, mint and clove.
