Ardbeg An Oa is a single malt Scotch from the Ardbeg distillery on Islay, in a 70cl bottle. It is made by marrying whiskies matured in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks, virgin charred oak and ex-bourbon barrels, which are then brought together in Ardbeg's own oak Gathering Vat.
The nose opens with smoky peat, dark chocolate and aniseed. On the palate come silky butterscotch, black pepper and clove. The finish builds to a strong note of smoke and spice, softened by sweet oak.
