Ardbeg – Corryvreckan (70cl)

Ardbeg Corryvreckan is a heavily peated Islay single malt, named after the Corryvreckan whirlpool off the island's northern coast. It is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon casks and heavily charred French oak casks, and bottled at cask strength without chill filtration. The nose brings tarry ropes, espresso and dark berries in peat smoke. On the palate there is cracked black pepper, rich chocolate and roasted coffee beans over a savoury, oily texture. The finish is long and warming, with charcoal, sea spray and clove.
