Ardbeg Wee Beastie is a 5 year old Islay single malt bottled at 47.4% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks and is a smoky, powerful whisky.
The nose is fresh and herbal, with vanilla, pear, cracked black pepper, honey-glazed ham, Turkish coffee and sappy pine resin. With water, vetiver, fennel, aniseed, green apple and leather appear. The palate brings chocolate, tar, creosote and smoked bacon, then antiseptic lozenges, eucalyptus and aniseed. The finish is long and salty, with cocoa, fudge and savoury meats.
