Ardnahoe Cask Strength Batch 2 is a single malt from the Ardnahoe distillery on Islay, bottled at a cask strength of 61%. It matured for five years, entirely in first-fill ex-bourbon casks.
The distillery stands on the north-east coast of Islay, between Caol Ila and Bunnahabhain, and opened in April 2019.
The nose offers dark chocolate, earthy peat and sea salt. On the palate come salted caramel, sweet orchard fruit and herbal tea, with balanced smoke and a touch of preserved lemon. The finish brings dried citrus peel, bonfire smoke and a sea breeze.
