This is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Ardnahoe, a 2025 limited edition bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle.
It matured entirely in Pedro Ximénez sherry quarter casks, a small cask format that gives the whisky a dense texture. The dark sweetness of the PX is meant to wrap around the peat smoke rather than overpower it. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The nose and palate bring raisins, figs, dates and dark chocolate alongside ash, peat smoke and maritime notes. The finish is long, warm and strongly smoky.
