This is an 18 year old Islay single malt from Bowmore, matured in Oloroso sherry casks. It has a deep amber colour with golden highlights.
The nose combines dark chocolate, dried figs, roasted coffee and Islay smoke, with orange peel and rich spices. On the palate it is full-bodied, with sherry-soaked raisins, treacle toffee and cinnamon, alongside a gentle maritime saltiness and lingering peat smoke.
The finish is long and warming, with spiced oak and dried fruit.
