Bruichladdich 12 Years Old 1998 Ancien Regime (70cl, 46%)

This is a 12 year old single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled on 18 June 1998, aged in a bourbon cask and bottled in 2011. Ancien Regime was the first of two bottlings marking the acquisition and rebirth of the distillery, and it is among the very last spirit distilled under the old order. The nose is smoky, with hints of toffee apple and toasty vanilla. The palate is rich and complex, with black pepper, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg.
