Bruichladdich – 18 YO (50%)

This is an 18 year old single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at 50%. It is unpeated, in the distillery's house style, and was distilled from the first Islay barley the distillery grew itself. The whisky matured in a combination of ex-bourbon, Sauternes and port casks, in the distillery's own warehouses within sight of the beach. The nose is ripe peaches and floral notes with creamy vanilla, tropical fruit, honey, caramel, crème brûlée and toasted oak. The palate is heavy and rich in texture, with honey, juicy fruit, oak, soft vanilla and malted grain. The finish is very long, with oak, ripe stone fruit and soft floral notes.
