This is a 30 year old Bruichladdich from the Rare Cask Series, distilled in 1986 and bottled in 2017 at 44.6% in a 70cl bottle. It is called The Magnificent Seven and comes from the last seven casks of 1986.
The whisky spent its whole maturation in sherry. The first 26 years were in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts, and it was then finished in Pedro Ximénez butts from Bodega Fernando de Castilla, supplied by winemaker Jan Pettersen. The release is 4,200 bottles.
