Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2012 is an unpeated Islay single malt, in a 750ml bottle at 50% (100 proof). All the barley was grown on Islay, on eight named farms: Coull, Rockside, Island, Mulindry, Starchmill, Cruach, Dunlossit and Sunderland.
It was distilled at Bruichladdich in 2012 and matured for eight years in American and French oak on the island. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The nose is floral honey and creamy vanilla with ripe pear, melon, kiwi and a hint of sea salt. The palate is creamy and malty, with pear, melon and orange around toffee, fudge, brown sugar and dry cereal. The finish is a salty sea breeze with charred oak, soft caramel and lingering melon.
