Bruichladdich – Islay Barley 2014 (70cl)

A single malt from Bruichladdich, the 2014 Islay Barley release is made entirely from barley grown on Islay, then harvested, distilled, matured and bottled on the island. It was aged in a combination of American and French oak. The style is cereal-led, with soft floral character, stone fruit and creamy vanilla, and a subtle maritime quality. The nose brings sweet malt, floral notes and ripe grain, followed by pepper and soft spice. On the palate come creamy vanilla and lemon, warm porridge, sweet malt and popcorn, ending on a peppery nutmeg finish.
